Lab Director

Dr. Eliza Nelson is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Science and Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychology at FIU, and established the lab in 2012. She earned her B.S. in Psychology and Communication Disorders from Baldwin-Wallace College (now Baldwin Wallace University) and her M.S./Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Undergrad Monkey Team

Giulianna Kendall joined the lab in Spring 2015, and is the senior research assistant on our monkey team. Yoli Davalos and Emily Diaz started in Spring 2017. Our newest member is Lorena Mendez, who started in Summer 2017. Read more about our projects with monkeys.

Undergrad Baby Team

Melissa Fajardo joined the lab in Fall 2013, and is the senior research assistant on our baby team. Venus Betancourt joined in Fall 2015 and Gema Carroll-Zuluaga joined the lab in Spring 2016.
